Finance & Accounting Manager
Company Overview
TECQMIND is an end-to-end AI professional services and staffing partner focused on the "how." We build the specialized teams and infrastructure required to turn technical potential into production-scale reality. With a primary engineering hub in Taiwan and a growing client base in the US, we manage a high-velocity, multi-currency ecosystem of global talent and complex service contracts.
The Role
As the Finance & Accounting Manager, you will own the financial engine of TECQMIND. You will be responsible for more than just "keeping the books"; you will manage the intersection of US and Taiwan financial operations. This includes global payroll, multi-tier workforce billing, and ensuring our revenue recognition (ASC 606) is accurate as we scale.
You will report directly to the leadership team, providing the data-driven insights needed to manage margins and fuel our expansion into the AI and Biotech markets.
Key Responsibilities
Global Payroll & Disbursements: Manage the complex payroll cycle for US FTEs, US contractors, and our Taiwan-based engineering teams. You will oversee EOR (Employer of Record) platforms and ensure all local labor insurances and taxes are paid correctly in both regions.
Revenue Recognition (ASC 606): Expertly navigate "Principal vs. Agent" considerations to ensure TECQMIND recognizes revenue correctly (Gross vs. Net) across our various service lines: fractional leadership, staffing, and custom implementation.
Invoicing & Accounts Receivable: Manage the international billing process, ensuring US clients are invoiced accurately for work performed across the Pacific. You will manage multi-currency reconciliations and minimize "leakage" from bank fees and exchange rate fluctuations.
Tax Strategy & R&D Credits: Lead the effort to capture R&D tax credits in both the US and Taiwan (SII credits). Ensure all cross-border "intercompany transactions" are documented for transfer pricing compliance.
Financial Reporting & FP&A: Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Build and maintain the "Unit Economics" for our various talent squads, helping us understand the exact profitability of each client engagement.
Audit & Compliance: Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors and tax preparers. Ensure TECQMIND remains in good standing with US state/federal laws and Taiwanese financial regulations.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance, specifically within a professional services, staffing, or tech consultancy firm.
Global Accounting Knowledge: Proven experience managing finances for a company with international operations (US/Asia experience is a major plus).
Technical Mastery: Deep understanding of GAAP (specifically ASC 606) and familiarity with global payroll/ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, Deel, or Rippling).
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. A CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) is highly preferred.
Analytical Mindset: The ability to look past the spreadsheets and provide strategic advice on pricing, margins, and operational risk.
Highly Desired: Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual Proficiency: Professional fluency in English and Mandarin is a massive advantage for collaborating with our Taiwan-based accounting partners and banks.
Industry Experience: Previous finance experience in the AI or Biotech sectors, where managing "IP-heavy" contracts is common.
